All webinars are free, one hour long, and scheduled to provide a 12:00 noon start time no matter what time zone you are in. Webinars provide an inexpensive way to keep up to date on new materials, products, procedures, and concepts while earning continuing-education credits. PCI webinars also provide for live interaction with industry experts.
Webinar Schedule
Webinars are scheduled monthly and begin at noon in each time zone. Eastern and Mountain webinars occur on Tuesdays and Central and Pacific webinars occur on Thursdays. You can register for any webinar in any time zone—choose the one that best fits your schedule each month.
Below is a list of scheduled courses for the next few months. Check back often, as courses are added frequently.
Designing for Seismic Success with Precast Concrete
Presenters: Byron Dietrich, S.E., Principal and Partner, TaylorTeter and Ned Cleland, Ph.D., P.E., President, Blue Ridge Design, Inc.
Over the past few years, we have seen some devastating earthquakes. These unpredictable events resulted in casualties; destroyed towns, cities and infrastructure; and took a toll on economies. The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute has done extensive research over the past decades to improve overall seismic design methodology and the use of precast concrete in seismic regions. This webinar will provide an overview of seismic design with precast concrete, highlighting some of the research and systems available. Specifically, the Precast Seismic Structural Systems (PRESSS) will be discussed. Case studies will used to help attendees learn how to apply these concepts and systems to their projects.
The International Green Construction Code: The Next Chapter in Design
Presenter: Greg Winkler, AIA, Executive Director, Mid-Atlantic Precast Association
The International Green Construction Code (IgCC), introduced earlier this year, promises to fundamentally alter the way owners and architects view sustainability. This presentation will cover the basic organization and operation of the IgCC, and review how this revolutionary new code will shift the sustainability discussion from manufacturing and construction to life-cycle performance and durability. The presentation will also review how precast concrete satisfies many of the proposed requirements in the IgCC.
Continuing-Education Credit
Each webinar will be registered for one hour of continuing education credit. Continuing-education credits include LUs/PDHs. Credit for attending a webinar may only be issued once per attendee/per course. To receive credit, you must attend the full webinar and provide complete registration information.
